When Skills Matter host, Robin Adda

Hosted by Robin Adda, founder and CEO of SkillsAssess, the When Skills Matter show dives into real-world strategies for closing skills gaps, developing leaders, aligning HR and L&D with business priorities, and making smarter people decisions that drive measurable impact.

Each episode explores how organisations are rethinking skills, learning, and workforce development in the age of AI.

We talk to business leaders, L&D professionals, and innovators who are shaping the future of work – uncovering what’s actually working to bridge the skills gap, improve learning outcomes, and prepare people for change.

Typically, we’ll cover two main themes in each conversation:

  • Your perspective or expertise within workforce development, HR, L&D, or skills strategy (for example: digital skills, employability, AI in learning, or performance enablement).
  • Your stories and practical experience – what’s really driving progress, what challenges you’ve seen, and what lessons others can learn from your journey.

It’s not a technical podcast or a sales pitch – it’s a space to share your insights, real-world examples, and ideas that help others make skills matter.

The Interview

When you join the call, we’ll have a quick chat before recording to get comfortable and outline the flow. Then we’ll start the interview itself.

The best way to sound great is to use a microphone or headset and sit in a quiet room. Even standard phone earbuds are fine if you don’t have a dedicated mic.

We’ll record on Zoom and produce both video and audio versions.

Episodes usually last around 25–35 minutes, but there’s no strict time limit. If we’re in a great discussion, we’ll keep going!

Don’t worry about being perfect – this is a relaxed, conversational chat. If there are background noises or interruptions, we’ll pause and edit later.
